Sangerhausen OT Wippra

Wippra is a district of the town of Sangerhausen and is surrounded by dense forests of the southern Harz. The river Wipper flows through the village. Just outside the village, deep in the Wippertal valley, lies the Wippra dam. Not only the circular path around the dam invites you to hike. Shady paths lead into the deep deciduous and coniferous forests of the surrounding area. Fans of naturism are attracted to Wippra by the first official naturist trail in Germany, which starts near the Wippra dam and leads through an idyllic forest and sunny meadows for about 14 km. The European hiking trail E 11 "Netherlands-Harz-Masuria" also passes through Wippra. Cyclists can start from here on the Harz cycle circuit and the Harz-Saale long-distance cycle route. For families the Wipperia Funpark with climbing forest and summer toboggan run as well as the Wippertalbad are popular destinations. By the way, beer has been brewed in Wippra since 1480. The museum and traditional brewery keeps this more than 500-year-old brewing tradition alive with its beer specialities.
